December is a time of joy & let's face it, organization. What better way to celebrate than with a homemade Advent calendar? Not only will it add a personal touch to your Christmas decorations, it will also brighten the lives of those who benefit from it. Here are some inventive ideas for gifts to include, plus tips for making your own personalized version!
Edible gifts
Chocolates, Christmas sweets or sweet cookies are always a hit. You can make them yourself, or count on us to make it easy for you. All that's left to do is wrap them in beautifully decorated kraft paper boxes or bags.
Offer tea bags in different flavors or small infusions to warm hearts during the winter. You can even buy cute hot chocolate sachets & slip them into little drawstring pouches.
Why not stock up on little jars of jam, caramel or salted preserves? These home-made treats will be all the more appreciated if they come from local businesses, who put all their passion into making them!
Useful gifts
In our health & beauty section: small hand creams, lip balms or lotions are always practical & pleasant to receive.
Alternatively, opt for socks with fun patterns, to keep you smiling & comfortable at the same time! We've got lots of cozy & original designs in store (& online!).
Si vous avez du mal à trouver des objets, une carte-cadeau peut aussi être une solution sympa - spécialement s’il s’agit d’une carte-cadeau Kozy! 🤩
An emotional touch
Through surprises, it's super important to include a warm human aspect to your calendar. How do you do it?
Sweet handwritten messages:
Every day, write a note, a quote or a kind word to express your gratitude or your Christmas wishes. They're sure to warm your heart.
A picture's worth a thousand words:
Print out photos of shared memories & leave a few behind.
There are tons of calendar designs to choose from:
1. KRAFT PAPER BAGS
Take 24 small kraft paper bags or envelopes and number them from 1 to 24. You can hang them on a string with clothespins or arrange them in a decorated box. It's simple, economical & we love the minimalist look!
2. TAKE OUT STYLE BOXES (paper or cardboard)
If you love the vintage & rustic look, set your sights on small cardboard boxes. You can paint or personalize each box with Christmas designs or decorative paper. Place each thought inside & close the boxes for added mystery.
3. GLASS JARS
Glass jars (Mason jars or jam jars) are a great idea for a more sustainable Advent calendar. You can fill them & arrange them on a shelf or table. Just add a pretty ribbon or label with the day's number.
4. HANGING FRAME
If you have a picture frame or an old wooden door, you can hang small numbered pockets on it. This system can be very original & festive, yet easy to make with wire + clothespins.
So go ahead, let your imagination run wild & create an Advent calendar that will become a true object of pleasure throughout the month of December! 🎄✨
