A dream Thanksgiving table!
Whether you're entertaining big this weekend or in the weeks to come (Christmas is coming! 🤗 ), here are a few best practices to adopt to successfully set up the perfect table!

Important points for an etiquette-conscious set-up:
Choose the right tablecloth size for the size of the table;
Choose the right tablecloth for the occasion: if you're hosting for Thanksgiving, use a tablecloth in autumnal colors;
Napkins: to match the tablecloth -> if your tablecloth is patterned, choose plain napkins, and vice versa -> place on the left, usually under the fork;
The same goes for placemats - if you're adding a decorative touch;
No more than 3 place settings - stacked plates - from widest to narrowest;
Placed 1 to 3 cm from the edge of the table;
Utensils used for the main meal will be first to the edge of the plate on either side;
The knife on the right, cutting edge inwards, and the main fork on the left;
If the meal includes soup, the soup spoon is placed after the knife;
The dessert fork, or dessert spoon depending on what you're serving, is placed on top of the plate (fork handle to the left, spoon handle to the right);
As for the glasses, simply place them according to their capacity. The wine glass on the right & then the water glass. All to the right of the guest's position.
Now for the most interesting part of the video: table decorations!
Use your creativity of the moment, following a simple or more complex theme, depending on the event of course!
Match the colors of the table linens you've used;
Be sure to set the mood: add luminaries, candle holders, flowers, etc. - follow your heart!
The idea behind table decorations is to foster an atmosphere of sharing & exchange - conducive to great conversation;
However, it's important not to block your guests' view;
Your table decoration should be centered & can run down the center of the table;
Add a reminder of your table decorations to your plates - it's always a highly appreciated detail.
Now you're ready to impress the visitors, and we sincerely hope we've taught you a few things along the way. 🤎
