Whether you're heading back to work after a much-needed vacation, or your son or daughter is starting a new school year, one universal fact remains: lunch preparation awaits you around the corner.
And as if that weren't enough, it also comes with a list of constraints as long as your arm: nutritious, varied, allergen-free, respect for the 4 food groups, cost of food, freshness, ouf! 🫣
We feel like giving up before we've even started, don't we?
Our mandate for this post was simple. We wanted to bring you ideas for quick, delicious & nutritious meals. The obvious: salads. But we wanted to “twist” them up a bit, so that they'd be jarred, layered & ready to empty into a dish at a moment's notice.
Easier said than done, you say?
Not at all.
Here are 3 great recipes, approved by our own taste buds! 😋
First and foremost, there's a specific order in which to make a successful pot salad. First, you pour the liquid elements into the bottom, whether it's a commercial or homemade dressing (oil, cider vinegar, maple syrup, etc.).
Then, gradually layer the vegetables or fruit that make up the dish. Add a little protein or starch, or vice versa, and repeat 2 or 3 times, depending on the size of your container.
We often finish with citrus fruits, nuts & herbs. For the aesthetic finish, of course, but especially for a tangy-herbal touch that's quite appreciated on the palate.

Another very ingenious idea that we practice here at head office during the summer season: a communal salad! As a team, we establish the type of salad we want and share the list of ingredients, depending on what's in everyone's fridge or garden.
Low cost, high taste! Bon appétit! 🙌🏼
